Below you will find a list of important questions and answers about our test center.

Eligible for free testing are "vulnerable populations":

  • Children under the age of 5, i.e. up to their fifth birthday
  • People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, including pregnant women in the first trimester (proof: original medical certificate)
  • People who are participating in clinical studies on the effectiveness of vaccines against the coronavirus at the time of testing
  • People required to be tested to exit quarantine ("free testing")
  • Visitors and those treated or residents in inpatient or outpatient care and health facilities
  • Carers
  • Household members of those who are proven to be infected (proof: test result of the infected person + matching home address)
  • Beneficiaries who employ people within the framework of a personal budget according to § 29 SGB IX, as well as people who are employed by beneficiaries within the framework of a personal budget

Citizens receive a citizen test for a 3 euro contribution:

  • with a red tile / warning on the Corona-Warn-App
and on the day of testing,
  • before contact with a person older than 60 years
  • before contact with a person who has a high risk of developing serious illness from COVID-19 due to a previous illness or disability
  • before attending an indoor event

If you cannot show any of the above reasons, you will have to pay for the rapid test regularly.

We use nasal tests by default. Spid tests are also possible, please ask our staff member at check-in.

If the test result is negative, you will receive the certificate in PDF format as an attachment to your mail about the test carried out. If you selected to print the certificate on site when booking the appointment, you will receive your printout at the earliest 15 minutes after submitting your test for evaluation.

Some countries and airlines now accept a negative antigen rapid test. If you would like your ID number printed on the certificate, please indicate this at check-in.

A positive rapid antigen test is now sufficient to detect a corona infection. The condition is that the test is carried out at an official test center.

The Estrel Corona test center is easy to reach both by car and when using public transport. Highway access is only 1.5 kilometres away, and the distance to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is13km. The Sonnenallee S-Bahn commuter train station can be reached on foot in only three minutes, and a bus stop and taxi rank are located right in front of the hotel. The entrance to the test center is located directly under the main entrance of the hotel, from the parking deck via the entrance to the hotel.

Underaged people from the age of 14 may be tested unaccompanied with a declaration of consent (form on the website or in your account) from their parents. Younger children may only be tested if accompanied by parents.
